LkPz-VIII upgrade...

LkPz-VIII "Stahldrache" Upgraded Hovertank

The Stahldrache was created by Timberwolf Industries/Teskai Engineering as its candidate technology demostrator for the Freihafen Luftkissenpanzer 1 (FLkPz-1) program (see James Boschma's article on the Heidelsheimat Defence Force) but since another design was chosen, the three prototypes created have been shipped to Aurore. The Stahldrache differs from the chosen prototype in retaining more of the original LkPz-VIII's features, such as having a three man crew and keeping the main gun. It is fitted with a new redesigned turret however. It also has added side armor and more front and overhead armor, resulting in a heavier vehicle. It does share the same upgraded powerplant and many other features of the chosen upgraded model. Also, in being prototypes, the vehicles lacks somewhat in communications gear, as the existing gear was fitted after arrival on planet. Only the essentials for keeping connected with the rest of the TFL and other sub-units of the 'wolves have been fitted. TI does offer this upgrade to any interested parties, and hopes that it will prove itself on Aurore.
